Samir Kahwash, MD, is associate chief for education at the department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, and a professor of Clinical Pathology at The Ohio State University. He is a Hematopathologist, a Pediatric Pathologist, and the Program Director of the Clinical Pediatric Pathology Fellowship training at Nationwide Children's.
His interest includes pediatric lymphomas, leukemias and medical education. He is a reviewer for several COG clinical trials, including Phase III trial of Myelotarg treatment of AML (AAML531) and successor COG AML trials AAML1031, AAML 1331 (Study of Arsenic Trioxide and Retinoic Acid combination in APL) and AAML 1831. Other reviews include AAML 1522 (for AML), COG ASCT1221 (JMML), COG Mixed phenotype acute leukemia task force, Hodgkin Lymphoma RADICAL study, and studies related to ALL, neuroblastoma, and others.
His medical education achievements include directing training and fellowship programs (for more than 20 years), Image of the Week (IOW) educational exercise (for more than 10 years) and Image based Instagram educational series.
