Biography

Melinda K. Storms RN, MS, NNP-BC, is a member of the Neonatal Nurse Practitioner team in the C4A-C NICU's at Nationwide Children's Hospital. She joined Nationwide Children's in 2002, as a staff nurse. She received a scholarship through the hospital and graduated from The Ohio State University with a master's of science degree in 2011. She then became a board certified neonatal nurse practitioner through the National Certification Corporation, completed a hospital fellowship, and began clinical practice. She is a member of NANN-NP. Professional development through Nationwide Children's includes: mock code preparation, evaluation, and review; training staff for emergency preparedness; quality initiatives via updating Sharepoint, a central location for protocols/education, for NNPs. She has authored an abstract and other educational information related subcutaneous fat necrosis secondary to body cooling.
