Joyce Chen, MD, is a board-certified adult and child and adolescent psychiatrist at Nationwide Children's Hospital and an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Dr. Chen received her medical degree from the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. Following residency, she completed her child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at the New York Presbyterian Hospital of Columbia and Weill-Cornell Universities. With an interest in systems of care and the public sector, she also completed a second fellowship in Public Psychiatry at Columbia University. Additionally, she has learned about psychoanalysis through the New York Psychoanalytic Society and Institute.


Dr. Chen is currently the Medical Director of the Child and Adolescent Partial Hospitalization Program at NCH and specializes in working with high-risk youth. She has a strong interest in mood and anxiety disorders, and topics related to the transitional youth age including identity and cultural issues.
