Joyce T. Chen, MD, is a board certified adult and child and adolescent psychiatrist at Nationwide Children's Hospital and an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Dr. Chen received her medical degree from the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University and residency at The Cambridge Health Alliance, affiliated with Harvard Medical School. She then completed her child and adolescent psychiatry training at the New York Presbyterian Hospital of Columbia and Weill-Cornell Universities. With her interest in systems of care and the public sector, she completed a second fellowship in Public Psychiatry at Columbia University. She also spent time learning about psychoanalysis through the New York Psychoanalytic Society and Institute.
Dr. Chen specializes in working with high risk youth in the Youth Crisis Stabilization Unit and in the outpatient setting. She has a strong interest in mood and anxiety disorders and topics related to adolescents and transition to adulthood, including identity and cultural issues.
