Jorge A. Vidaurre, MD, is a nationally and internationally recognized pediatric neurologist and clinical neurophysiologist specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of children with complex, difficult-to-control epilepsy. His clinical expertise includes advanced neurophysiologic evaluation and the management of refractory seizures, developmental and epileptic encephalopathies, and other complex neurological disorders.
Dr. Vidaurre serves as director of the Neurophysiology Laboratory and the Clinical Neurophysiology Fellowship Program at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. He is also professor of Pediatrics and Neurology at The Ohio State University College of Medicine.
Throughout his career, Dr. Vidaurre has held prominent leadership positions in national and international organizations dedicated to epilepsy and child neurology. He currently serves as Councilor for the Midwest on the Child Neurology Society Board of Directors. He is a member of the editorial board of the Annals of the Child Neurology Society and previously chaired the International League Against Epilepsy (ILAE) Education Task Force. In addition, he served on the Child Neurology Society’s International Affairs Committee.
Dr. Vidaurre has received multiple honors for his clinical excellence, leadership, and commitment to patient care. He was awarded the Child Neurology Society’s Gold Humanism Award in 2022 and was named a Fellow of the Child Neurology Society (FCNS) in 2025. He has also been recognized as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor for multiple years.
Dr. Vidaurre has authored more than 70 peer-reviewed publications and numerous book chapters. As invited speaker, he has delivered many presentations and organized multiple scientific symposia at national and international conferences.
His research and academic interests focus on pediatric epilepsy, developmental and epileptic encephalopathies, clinical neurophysiology, and global health. Dr. Vidaurre has been actively involved in international collaborative outreach, education, and training initiatives across Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Caribbean. Dr. Vidaurre has mentored multiple generations of child neurologists.
