Jonathan M. Grischkan, MD, FAAP, FACS

Jonathan Grischkan, MD, is a complex pediatric otolaryngologist and head and neck surgeon at Nationwide Children's in Columbus, Ohio, where he has practiced since 2011. He is a professor of otolaryngology-head and neck surgery at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.

At Nationwide Children's, Dr. Grischkan serves as director of the Salivary Gland Disorders Program and co-director of the Thoracic Airway Program. He is the team otolaryngologist for the Cleft/Craniofacial Center and 22q Deletion Syndrome Center, a member of the Hemangioma/Vascular Malformation multidisciplinary center and surgical specialty chief at Nationwide Children's-Toledo. He was instrumental in establishing and achieving accreditation for one of the world's few multidisciplinary clinics dedicated to primary ciliary dyskinesia at Nationwide Children's. His clinical responsibilities include training fellows, residents, medical students and allied health professionals.

Dr. Grischkan earned his medical degree and a concurrent Master of Science in applied anatomy from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in 2005. He completed his residency in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery at The Ohio State University Medical Center in 2010, where he served as administrative chief resident. He then completed fellowship training in pediatric otolaryngology and facial plastic surgery at Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota in Minneapolis.

Dr. Grischkan is board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology and holds subspecialty board certification in complex pediatric otolaryngology. He has contributed to the field through more than 35 peer-reviewed publications, 60 abstracts and five book chapters.

Dr. Grischkan has held leadership roles in organized medicine, including serving as secretary of the Pediatric Head & Neck Surgical Society. He also serves on the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery task force for the Complex Pediatric Otolaryngology board examination. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, the American Cleft Palate Craniofacial Association and the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He is also a member of Alpha Omega Alpha, the national medical honor society.
