Jay Hudgins, DO, MS, FCAP, received his BA from Princeton University with a dual concentration of political philosophy and Pre-Med. He then obtained his Master's of Science and DO degrees from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He was privileged to have been both a Pediatrics and Clinical Pathology resident at Bristol-Myer Squibb Children's Hospital/Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson University Medical Center in New Brunswick, NJ. He considers himself lucky to have found the intersection of lab medicine and patient care in transfusion medicine and completed his Transfusion Medicine fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic. While there he was there he was able to foster an interest in hemostasis testing and evaluation of bleeding/thrombotic disorders.
Upon completion of his fellowship, he practiced for 8 years as the director of the Blood Bank, Tissue bank, and Hemostasis testing laboratory at Los Angeles General Medical Center at Keck school of Medicine of USC. After working at LAGMC/Keck School of Medicine of he decided to focus his clinical efforts on hemostasis testing/evaluation in pediatrics.
