Biography
Christopher J. Timan, MD, is a member of the Neonatology Section at Nationwide Children's Hospital and a Clinical Associate Professor of Pediatrics at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. His research interests involve the neurological evaluation and follow-up of infant survivors of prematurity and critical neonatal illness. As director of the Neonatal Developmental Clinic, Dr. Timan currently participates in the medical and neurological follow-up evaluation of infants in clinical studies including the Neonatal Research Network (NRN) multicenter trials of hypothermia for hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy (HIE). Previous follow up studies have included nitric oxide for the prevention of bronchopulmonary dysplasia, and the (BEAM) Beneficial Effects of Antenatal Magnesium (MFMU) Maternal Fetal Medicine Units Network follow up of infants exposed to prenatal magnesium sulfate for the prevention of cerebral palsy.
