Amy Brown Schlegel, MD

Amy Schlegel, MD, received her medical degree from the University of Minnesota. She completed her Pediatric residency and Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh, where she also earned a Master of Science degree in Medical Education. Dr. Schlegel practices Neonatology in the Newborn Intensive Care Units at Nationwide Children's Hospital and the Nationwide Children's Hospital NICU at The Ohio State University Medical Center. She is the medical director of the Level IV NICU at Nationwide Children's main campus. She also sees patients in prenatal multidisciplinary consultation in The Fetal Center at Nationwide Children's. Dr. Schlegel has an interest in taking care of medically complex newborns and supporting families in understanding and caring for their child following identification of critical or complex illness. She is the director of the Perinatal Palliative Care Program at Nationwide Children's Hospital and works closely with the Advanced Illness Management Team and the Nationwide Children's Hospice and Home-based Palliative Care Program in this capacity.
