Akua A. Amponsah, MD, FAAP, is the Associate Division Chief for Population Health in the Division of Primary Care Pediatrics, and the Medical Lead Physician for the Linden Primary Care Center at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. She is also an Associate Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at The Ohio State University College of Medicine.
A board-certified pediatrician and community advocate, Dr. Amponsah completed medical school at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan and her pediatric residency training at the Children's Hospital of Michigan. Dr. Amponsah's clinical interests include all aspects of general pediatrics and child health advocacy, especially for children in urban settings. She has practiced primarily in the Linden neighborhood for nearly two decades, and for her outstanding contributions to the children of central Ohio, Nationwide Children’s Hospital awarded Dr. Amponsah with the 2022 Physician of the Year Award.
