Kavitha Kotha

Rebecca Scherzer, MD, is a professor of pediatrics at The Ohio State University College of Medicine and Nationwide Children's Hospital. Dr. Scherzer received her medical degree from the Wright State University School of Medicine. She completed her residency at the University of Florida Shands Hospital and her Allergy and Immunology fellowship at Duke University Medical Center. She is the section chief of the Division of Allergy and Immunology at Nationwide Children's Hospital and the program director of the combined Ohio State University and Nationwide Children's Hospital Allergy and Immunology Fellowship training program. Dr. Scherzer has devoted much of her career to medical education. She is the director of Medical Student Education at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. In that role, she helps oversee medical students during their clinical years and mentors students pursuing careers in pediatrics. Dr. Scherzer serves on multiple local and regional committees. She has leadership roles in national societies within the fields of allergy and immunology and graduate medical education.

Her clinical interests include treating infants, children and adolescents with allergic rhinitis, asthma and food allergy. In addition, she has a focus on treating children with primary immunodeficiency disorders.
