100 Patients in the Intensive Pain Rehabilitation & Education Program

The Intensive Pain Rehabilitation & Education Program (iPREP) opened its doors in the Livingston Ambulatory Center (LAC) at Nationwide Children’s Hospital on March 2, 2020. The program has grown steadily despite initial delays due to the pandemic. In June 2022, the three-week multidisciplinary day-treatment program will have 100 patients who successfully graduated.

iPREP is a branch of the Comprehensive Outpatient Pain Program. The program works with children and adolescents between 10-18 years of age who suffer from pain that greatly limits their day-to-day functioning and who have had inadequate responses to previous pain interventions. There have been many lessons learned in these first 100 patients; however, outcomes suggest significant improvements in school attendance, emotion regulation and functional independence.

iPREP will continue to grow due to these successes and commitment from colleagues within and outside Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Nationwide Children’s community’s support has been instrumental in the program’s growth, so continue to reach out with questions and send your referrals. Click here for more information.
