Tyler Tumberg

Tyler Tumberg
Administrative Fellow, First Year

Tyler attended the University of Dayton where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Pre-Physical Therapy. During the first two years of his undergraduate studies he was a member of the University of Dayton’s men’s soccer team. In his final two years he had the opportunity to work as a PT Aide at a local sports medicine clinic. Upon graduation he discovered his passion for healthcare administration by taking on the role of Office Manager for a new branch of the same sports medicine clinic. He then went on to graduate from Saint Louis University with both his Master of Business Administration and Master of Health Administration. During his graduate studies Tyler spent 12 months at BJC Healthcare’s Center for Clinical Excellence as a Strategy and Operations Intern. During his internship he had the opportunity to work on an array of projects that ranged from the implementation of a cutting edge technology that would benefit stroke patients to the management of the Center for Clinical Excellence’s budget.

Tyler is excited to begin his career in the Joint Administrative Fellowship program under the mentorship and guidance of a strong leadership team, and has interests in strategic planning, business/regional development, and clinical operations. In his free time, Tyler enjoys golf, exercising, and spending time with family and friends.

Maggie attended Miami University where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with a minor in Business Management. While at Miami, she fostered her love for healthcare while working in the Emergency Department at the local hospital, performing bench research at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center, and interning at The Ohio State University Hospital East. Maggie graduated from The Ohio State University Masters of Health Administration Program in May of 2018. At Ohio State, Maggie worked for the Center for Clinical and Translational Science, where she developed a database that was used to streamline data collection processes for annual reporting to the National Institutes of Health. Maggie also had the opportunity to work with The Ohio State University Hospital and Ross Heart Hospital, working on a number of projects that included developing an Epic training program, streamlining workflow processes within a cardiology clinic, and identifying various regional development initiatives.

During her first year of her fellowship, Maggie led the strategic planning process for the Hematology, Oncology, and Blood and Marrow Transplant Division at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. She also worked on multiple other projects with teams such as Regional Development, Marketing, Planning and Business Development, Legal Services, The Research Institute, and The Nationwide Children’s Hospital Foundation. At the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Maggie will continue to develop her leadership and critical thinking skills through advanced project work, exposure to high level decision making, and operational roles.
