John M. Russo, MD

John Russo, MD, is an attending pediatric gastroenterologist at Nationwide Children's and an Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. Dr. Russo's research has focused on epithelial wound healing. His poster presentation on the subject was awarded the Young Investigator Award at the 2004 World Congress of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition. Dr. Russo's clinical activities span all types of pediatric gastroenterology, including eosinophilic esophagitis, inflammatory bowel disease and celiac disease. Dr. Russo leads the Eosinophilic Esophagitis Program at Nationwide Children's, along with Elizabeth Erwin, MD, a pediatric allergy and immunology specialist. He is named among the Best Doctors in America.
