Biography

Hilary K. Michel, MD, is an attending pediatric gastroenterologist at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, part of the Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Center and an assistant professor of Clinical Pediatrics at The Ohio State University. Dr. Michel attended Case Western Reserve University for her undergraduate education and completed medical school, general pediatric residency and pediatric gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC).

Her clinical interests include general pediatric gastroenterology with a focus on caring for children and adolescents with IBD. Her research interests center around providing comprehensive care to children with IBD and their families, focusing on multidisciplinary care, shared decision making and health-care transition. Her past awards include the UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh First Year Fellow of the Year Award, and the Susan K. Makaroff Resident Award for integrating social and emotional support in health care.
