Biography

Hilary K. Michel, MD, is an attending pediatric gastroenterologist at Nationwide Children’s, medical director of the Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Center, as well as director of the center’s Young Adult Transition Program. She is also an associate professor of Clinical Pediatrics at The Ohio State University College of Medicine.

Dr. Michel attended Case Western Reserve University for her undergraduate education and completed medical school, general pediatric residency and pediatric gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC).

Her clinical interests include general pediatric gastroenterology with a focus on caring for children and adolescents with IBD. Her research interests center around providing comprehensive care to children with IBD and their families, focusing on multidisciplinary care, sexual and reproductive health, and health-care transition. Her recent awards include the Brilli-Heiser Award for Excellence in the Quality Improvement Essentials (QIE) Course, the Division of Gastroenterology Excellence in TEaching Award, and the Department of Pediatrics Outstanding Faculty Educator Award.
