Prepare for your Dental Visit

  • At this appointment, your child will be given sedative medications. The goal of giving the sedative is to help your child be as comfortable as possible during the dental procedure.
  • Your child will not be put to sleep - that is done only in the Operating Room or Surgery Center.
  • If your child is running a fever or seems to be coming down with a cold or runny nose, please call (614) 722-5661 at least one day before the sedation appointment. It may be better to reschedule the appointment if there is a chance that your child is ill.
  • Your child must be without food or drink from midnight the night before. If your child takes regular medications in the morning, please call (614) 722-5661 for specific instructions.
  • If your child uses an asthma inhaler/breathing treatment, please bring to the appointment.
  • We recommend that 2 adults accompany each child for the sedation appointment.
  • Patients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Please bring any applicable guardianship paperwork to the visit.
  • Please bring the patient's insurance card to every visit.
  • Please arrive 15 minutes early. Patients who are late for their scheduled appointment may be asked to reschedule for a future date.
  • Cancellation policy: If you are unable to keep your appointment, a 24 hour notice is required.
