What to Expect at Your Sports and Orthopedic Physical Therapy Appointment

What to Bring

  • All patients must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for the initial evaluation.

  • Shorts for a lower extremity injury. Tank top for upper extremity injury.

  • Comfortable loose fitting clothing for back and neck injuries.

  • Athletic shoes for all evaluations especially orthotic evaluations.

  • Insurance card.

What to Expect

  • The first visit will consist of an evaluation which will be about 45 minutes to 1 hour. You will be asked questions about your injury. Measurements and testing will be performed.

  • Following the evaluation an exercise program will be developed, including a home exercise program.

  • Follow up appointments will be scheduled with the therapist at the initial evaluation, after school times will be available.

  • If you need to reschedule or cancel, please call your treatment center.
