Transportation to School-Based Health Care Services

Nationwide Children’s Hospital offers transportation to school-based health care services from select schools within the Columbus City School District and Reynoldsburg City School District. If a student from a participating school needs care, our team will work together to confirm consent, schedule the appointment and transport the student to a school-based health center nearby. Our goal is to make sure children have access to the expert care they need, so they can stay healthy, happy and in school.

How Does it Work?

  • The school nurse and the school-based health center identify students in need and work with the student’s parent/guardian to secure consent.
  • Students who have provided a signed consent form can use the transportation services to be seen at a school-based health center in the school district.
  • Small groups of students will be scheduled and transported to a school-based health center during select days and hours during the week.
  • Parents/guardians are not required to be at the appointment, but are welcome to attend if they would like. If you would like to be present, we recommend you call (614) 355-2590 to schedule at a convenient time in one of our school-based health centers.
  • After your child's appointment, we will give them a paper that explains what services were provided during the visit with any needed follow up instructions.
