To raise funds for central Ohio’s only pediatric hospice and palliative care program, Pleasure Guild of Nationwide Children’s Hospital will present Shrek the Musical March 7-9, 2014 at Columbus' historic Palace Theatre, 34 West Broad Street. The annual, family-friendly, Broadway-quality production benefits children for whom a cure is beyond reach.
Pleasure Guild is inviting all actors ages 8 and up to audition. Auditions will be held January 4-6, 2014, although all actors must register in advance and by December 16, 2013. Walk-in auditions will not be accepted. Visit nationwidechildrens.org/pleasure-guild-play-auditions to register.
With more than 20 years of performances at the Palace Theatre, Shrek is Pleasure Guild’s 57th production. The annual play is Pleasure Guild’s feature fund-raising event. Pleasure Guild members presented a check totaling $325,518.30 to the hospital in 2013. Since the organization’s inception, Pleasure Guild has contributed more than $4 million to the hospital.
“Pleasure Guild is proud to support Nationwide Children’s Hospital and to serve families in their greatest time of need,” said Julie Zogbaum, president of Pleasure Guild. “We are thrilled to announce Shrek as this year’s play and lead fundraiser. Every ticket sold makes a difference.”
