Pleasure Guild donates more than $468,000 to Nationwide Childrens Hospital, elects new Board of Directors

August 15, 2012

Pleasure Guild, a 104-year-old organization committed to raising funds for Nationwide Children’s Hospital’s Hospice and Palliative Care program, recently presented a check totaling $468,249.00 to Dr. Steve Allen, CEO of Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Since the organization’s inception, Pleasure Guild has contributed more than $4 million to the hospital.

“It is our honor to give back to Nationwide Children’s Hospital and to benefit children for whom a cure is beyond reach,” said Miranda Roberts, 2011-2012 president of Pleasure Guild. "Funds raised by our organization allow families to tend to their children eliminating financial difficulties associated with their care. Every dollar makes a difference.”

Pleasure Guild’s donation is directed toward paying for the uncompensated expenses of the Hospice and Palliative Care program. The services are typically provided in a child’s home to keep the child comfortable and provide spiritual and emotional support to the child and their family.

In addition to individual and corporate contributions, the women of Pleasure Guild organize and participate in several fundraisers. Pleasure Guild’s largest fundraiser is a professionally directed family production held annually in March at the Palace Theatre in Columbus. Pleasure Guild also recently elected its 2012-2013 leadership team, a talented group of women across the central Ohio area. Board members serve a one-year term.

The 2011-2012 Board of Directors includes:
