Kohl’s Department Store, through the Kohl’s Cares® cause merchandise program, recently donated $301,046 to Nationwide Children’s Hospital. The donations were collected from Kohl’s stores located throughout central Ohio. Kohl’s has gifted more than $2.8 million to Nationwide Children’s since the partnership inception in 2000.
This year’s grant will support K.I.S.S. Your Kids (Kohl’s Is Sold on Safety), which is a seasonal community education program to promote the prevention of the most common injuries seen in our emergency department – injuries that are leading causes of death for kids and parents.
“Kohl’s has been a dedicated supporter of children’s health across the country,” said Brian Harman of Nationwide Children’s Hospital Foundation. “We are very fortunate to have such a great partner here in Columbus. Along with the donations which allow us to continue our K.I.S.S. Your Kids community education program, Kohl’s associates also volunteer on a regular basis to make many of our community outreach events a success.”
The K.I.S.S. Your Kids Safety Campaign at Nationwide Children’s is generously sponsored by Kohl’s Cares®. The program at Nationwide Children’s features seasonal coloring contests, an interactive video game, safety tips for parents and kids, injury prevention and treatment charts, car seat safety checks and activity books. More information about the program is available at NationwideChildrens.org/Kiss-Your-Kids.
Kohl’s commitment to Nationwide Children’s is made possible through the Kohl’s Cares® cause merchandise program. Through this initiative, Kohl’s sells $5 books and plush toys in which 100 percent of net profit benefits children’s health and education programs nationwide, including hospital partnerships like this one.
Kohl’s has raised more than $208 million dollars nationwide through this merchandise program. In addition to the merchandise program, Kohl’s Cares® features the Scholarship Program, which last year recognized more than 2,100 young volunteers with a total of $410,000 in scholarships and prizes. Through Kohl’s Associates in Action volunteer program, more than 500,000 associates have donated more than 1.6 million hours of their time since 2001 and Kohl’s has donated more than $47 million to youth-focused nonprofit organizations. Kohl’s also offers fundraising gift cards for schools and youth-serving organizations. For more information, visit www.Kohls.com/Cares.
