Biography

Mark W. Hall, MD, FCCM, is a professor in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Critical Care Medicine at Nationwide Children's Hospital and The Ohio State University College of Medicine. He is the Chief of the Division of Critical Care Medicine at Nationwide Children's Hospital, Development Board Endowed Chair in Critical Care Medicine and Director of the Immune Surveillance Laboratory at The Research Institute at Nationwide Children's Hospital in the Center for Clinical and Translational Research.

His primary area of research focuses on the immunobiology of pediatric critical illness, with active projects investigating measures of immune function, mechanisms and risk factors for critical illness-induced immune suppression, and clinical trials of immunostimulatory therapies to restore immune function in the ICU. Dr. Hall's immunology work spans the spectrum of basic, translational, and clinical science and includes clinical conditions such as trauma, burns, sepsis, and cardiopulmonary bypass. Dr. Hall is the Principal Investigator for Nationwide Children's Hospital in the NICHD’s Collaborative Pediatric Critical Care Research Network (CPCCRN) and is an active member of the Pediatric Acute Lung Injury and Sepsis Investigators (PALISI) research network.
