The Personal Impact of a Healthy Home

Alma Santos was struggling to make her home livable on the South Side of Columbus until a neighbor told her about Healthy Homes, the affordable housing arm of Healthy Neighborhoods Healthy Families and a partnership between Nationwide Children’s Hospital and the faith-based Community Development for All People.

Among its many programs, the partnership’s Home Improvement Program assists community members with home repairs. Alma says she began crying when she learned she was approved for the program. 

“With this help, we’re creating a more beautiful neighborhood and a safe home for my children,” says Alma.
