Corporate Partners Allowing for Greater Neighborhood Investment
Health systems may struggle with finding the resources for significant community investment outside of the traditional mission of health care. Nationwide Children’s has relied on a number of corporate partners to help leverage its own community investment work – and none has been more important than Nationwide.
In 2020, Nationwide and the Nationwide Foundation announced that major focuses of a $10 million gift to the Pediatric Innovation Fund at Nationwide Children’s would be community investment and health equity research.
The gift is now being used to support the expansion of Nationwide Children’s flagship community improvement initiative, Healthy Neighborhoods Healthy Families, and to endow a chair of health equity research held by Deena Chisolm, PhD, director of the Center for Child Health Equity and Outcomes Research at The Abigail Wexner Research Institute.
