Editorial: Community Revitalization Initiative Shows How a Children’s Hospital Can Be a Good Neighbor

Alice, pictured wearing a mask, is standing on her front porch. The front of her home is pictured and there's a large tree in her front yard.

On the heels of the announcement that Nationwide Children’s Hospital is expanding its Healthy Neighborhoods Healthy Families initiative, The Columbus Dispatch Editorial Board praised the effort to invest in even more affordable housing for the good of area communities.

Nationwide Children’s has recognized that it does not exist in a bubble and has “doubled down” on its work to promote equity and inclusion, the editorial says:

“Healthy Neighborhoods Healthy Families is an example of the good that can happen when a bubble is popped, and thoughtful neighbors work intentionally to improve the community. We urge others to step out from within their own four walls and do the same.”
