Expanding a Transformational Accountable Care Organization

Dayton Children’s Hospital has invited Partners For Kids®, the United States’ oldest and largest pediatric accountable care organization, to begin operations in west central Ohio and enhance the health of 94,000 children living in the region.

This brings the total number of children who are impacted by Partners For Kids’ value-based care model to more than 400,000. The accountable care organization was created in 1996 by Nationwide Children’s Hospital to help children covered by Medicaid receive the highest quality care while also saving money. That money can then be reinvested into other programs that improve children’s wellbeing.

CareSource, the multi-state managed care plan based in Dayton, helped bring Partners For Kids, Nationwide Children’s and Dayton Children’s together for this new partnership.

“We are proud to lead this expansion of our collaboration with Nationwide Children’s and CareSource,” said Deborah Feldman, president and CEO of Dayton Children’s. “The children helped by Partners For Kids are some of the state’s most vulnerable, and many are at risk of experiencing inconsistent health care. Through this partnership, we will strive to improve the wellbeing and health outcomes for these children.”
