The Application and Selection Process

Starting in January each year, we have individual interviews. Typically, we invite eight individuals to a half day long session. During the interviews, applicants meet for a half hour with each faculty member, the Chief Resident and the Assistant Chief Resident.

Application Process

Applicants must register with the ERAS program through the NRMP to participate in the Pediatric Surgery Residency Match at Children's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.

The deadline for applications is December 31st.

Interviews will be held in February and March.

International Graduates

According to Children’s policy, foreign medical graduates are expected to have a J1 visa. Exceptions to this requirement must be approved by the Designated Institutional Official, the Program Director, and the Senior Vice President - Human Resources in advance of the match and/or letter of offer.
