Nationwide Children’s Hospital is not only home to world-class neuromuscular research and clinical services, it’s also the hub of an extraordinary collaborative environment. As part of the Center for Gene Therapy and The Research Institute at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, we collaborate with scientists and clinicians at The Ohio State University.

Resources include the Paul D. Wellstone Muscular Dystrophy Cooperative Research Center, within the Center for Gene Therapy, as well as the Center for Muscle Health and Neuromuscular Disease, a collaboration between The Ohio State University and Nationwide Children’s Hospital.

Current Training Opportunities

  • Pre- and post-doctoral training opportunities within the NIH-funded (T32) training program in the Center for Muscle Health and Neuromuscular Disease. Contact: Denis C. Guttridge, PhD
  • ACGME-approved fellowship in Neuromuscular Medicine (headquartered at The Ohio State University Department of Neurology)
  • GME-approved fellowship in Neuromuscular Genetic Therapeutics (headquartered at Nationwide Children’s Hospital)
  • Myology Course: This annual program is conducted by the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Neuromuscular Disorders Program and the Wellstone Center, with collaboration from the OSU/Nationwide Children’s Hospital Center for Muscle Health. It includes faculty from both Nationwide Children’s Hospital and OSU, and is geared for both MD and PhD postdoctoral trainees.
