About the Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship

The Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship program at Nationwide Children’s Hospital is designed to prepare physicians for an academic career in Pediatric Emergency Medicine.  Our program offers a challenging experience, allowing fellows to progressively acquire the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to provide excellent direct and supervisory emergency care to children.  Fellows are offered a broad experience in all facets of pediatric emergency medicine¸ including clinical care, teaching, research and administration.  We accept graduates from both pediatric and emergency medicine residencies. Upon successful completion of the program, the fellow has met the training requirements for  Pediatric Emergency Medicine certification by the American Board of Pediatrics.

Nationwide Children’s Hospital has one of the busiest pediatric emergency departments in the country, offering an outstanding clinical experience for trainees.  It is a Level I Trauma Center, the first designated as such in the state of Ohio in 1991.  It is also a verified Burn Center.
