Nationwide Children’s is the only hospital in the United States offering an approach to bladder exstrophy that can reduce a child’s hospital stay from 2 months in traction to 8 days.
Dr. Krawczeski is Nationwide Children’s chief medical officer and physician-in-chief. Nationwide Children’s is one of only two standalone pediatric health systems represented on the 2025 list.
The Appalachian Children Coalition and Nationwide Children’s have secured a $64 million grant for school-based health in 36 communities across 20 Appalachian counties.

Nationwide Children’s Hospital has been named to U.S. News & World Report’s Best Children’s Hospitals Honor Roll for the 11th consecutive year. The Honor Roll is a top distinction awarded to only 10 children’s hospitals nationwide. Nationwide Children’s has been named by U.S. News as tied for the No. 1 pediatric hospital in Ohio and the Midwest and is ranked among the nation’s best in all 11 specialties, with seven ranked in the top 10.
The American Nurses Credentialing Center’s (ANCC) Magnet Recognition Program® - which recognizes health care organizations worldwide for their commitment to nursing excellence and innovation - has awarded Nationwide Children’s Hospital its fifth consecutive Magnet Designation. There are just over 600 Magnet designated hospitals in the world, with less than 1% having achieved this honor five or more times.
Forbes has once again named Nationwide Children’s Hospital as one of “America’s Best Large Employers.” Nationwide Children’s is ranked the number one hospital in Ohio, in the top five for children’s hospitals nationally, sixth in the healthcare and social industry category and 42nd among the top 500 large employers’ category.
