It's Different Here
We’re all about coordinated care. Experts in every area (not just in disease treatment) working together to care for the body, mind, and overall quality of life. Together, these experts dedicate their lives to a single mission: finding the solutions to treat brain tumors in children.
Yes, at Nationwide Children’s Hospital we know what it takes. And that’s what we’ve built. An exceptional team who cares—and a global destination for pediatric Neuro-Oncology care.

The Definition of Personalized Medicine
The best way to beat a complex cancer diagnosis is to know exactly what we’re fighting against. That’s what our patients get with our genomic medicine team. Using sequencing to study the DNA from cancer cells, the Institute for Genomic Medicine is able to compare a tumor’s DNA to normal cells. This allows us to identify the genetic mutations that are the root molecular cause for a patient’s disease and determine precisely what type of cancer we’re fighting, which in turn may suggest specific therapies designed to shut down that root cause.

“IGM’s comprehensive testing of the cancer genome gives us more information about each cancer’s vulnerabilities and how aggressive the cancer is, so we can focus on the most beneficial therapy choices. This is precision medicine at its best!”
