Each family will meet with experts from the Fetal Center as well as pediatric, maternal fetal medicine and surgical specialists based on your baby’s diagnosis. Our specialists can treat many complex fetal conditions, ensuring both you and your baby’s unique needs are met by a comprehensive care team, in one location.

We also work closely with your own OB or maternal-fetal medicine doctor every step of the way to develop a personalized care plan for both you and baby. Our team of fetal experts have decades of experience in treating all types of fetal conditions and diagnoses. Our goal is to provide you with the high-quality care and the best possible outcome.

Adolfo Etchegaray, MD

Adolfo Etchegaray

Adolfo Etchegaray, MD, is the Chief of Fetal Medicine at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. He brings over a decade of experience in maternal-fetal medicine and fetal surgery and years of program development to our Fetal Center. Before joining Nationwide Children’s, Dr. Etchegaray was recruited by the Austral University Hospital in Pilar, Argentina, to develop one of the first fetal medicine units in the country and pioneered innovations in surgical techniques. With his appointment, Nationwide Children’s expands on the current service offerings of the Fetal Center.

Oluyinka O. Olutoye, MD, PhD

Oluyinka O. Olutoye, MD, PhD, Surgeon-In-Chief at Nationwide Children’s Hospital

In addition to being the Surgeon-in-Chief at Nationwide Children's, Dr. Olutoye is at the forefront of the surgical and medical treatments that improve outcomes for both mother and baby. As a pediatric and fetal surgeon, Dr. Olutoye brings specialized clinical expertise in fetal and neonatal surgery. Fetal surgeons work closely with obstetricians and maternal-fetal medicine specialists to provide exceptional care for babies who need surgery in-utero and to improve outcomes for a range of conditions such as congenital diaphragmatic hernia, spina bifida, sacrococcygeal teratoma and other congenital anomalies.

Meet Dr. Olutoye

Oluseyi Ogunleye, MD

Oluseyi Ogunleye

Dr. Ogunleye is a maternal-fetal medicine physician and fetal surgeon for the Fetal Center at Nationwide Children’s. Dr. Ogunleye comes with years of experience, first as an obstetrician gynecologist and maternal-fetal medicine subspecialist, and most recently as a fetal surgeon. He trained across several continents and in a variety of practice settings in the United States. His current position centers around providing excellent clinical and surgical care for our high-risk pregnant patients with congenital fetal anomalies and in particular, candidates for fetal intervention.

Anna Connair, APRN, CNM, WHNP-BC

Anna Connair

Anna Connair is a certified nurse-midwife and women’s health nurse practitioner. Her extensive experience has spanned the scope of OBGYN care. She has cared for women throughout their lifespan including patients in a rural low risk birthing program and a busy obstetric hospital serving high risk populations. Anna is passionate about guiding and supporting families throughout their journey with the Fetal Center.

Our expert team evaluates and treats nearly every fetal complication, from the most common to the most complex conditions.
