Travis S. Gallagher, AT received his Bachelors degree from Baldwin-Wallace University. He is nationally certified and licensed by the State of Ohio to practice athletic training. Prior to joining the team at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, he was a clinical and outreach athletic trainer for ten years at the Cleveland Clinic. With Nationwide Children's Sports Medicine, Travis is the Lead Athletic Trainer at the Philip Heit Center for Healthy New Albany. In addition to his work as a physician extender, he treats patients in Functional Rehabilitation; returning patients with all types of musculoskeletal sports injuries to quickly and safely return to competition. Travis also oversees and treats patients in the Play Strong program. The primary goal of Play Strong is to return patients to an active lifestyle while overcoming many types of illnesses and conditions, such as cancer, heart disease, diabetes, arthritis, and weight issues. Travis incorporates play, self-motivation, and an introduction to various physical activities (PA101) into the rehabilitation of these patients, as well as increasing fitness levels, functional movement skills and confidence. Finally, he helps lead sports medicine’s ever growing social media channels.
