Travis S. Gallagher, AT, ATC, received his Bachelors degree from Baldwin-Wallace University. He is nationally certified and licensed by the State of Ohio to practice athletic training. Prior to joining the team at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, he was a clinical and outreach athletic trainer for ten years at the Cleveland Clinic. With Nationwide Children's Sports Medicine, Travis is a Clinical Lead Athletic Trainer. He helps to lead our Programming Committee, including Functional Rehabilitation and the Play Strong program, our Social Media team with contributions to Facebook, Twitter, PediaCast and 700 Children's Blog, and staff at the Westerville Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Center and the Philip Heit Center for Healthy New Albany.
Travis treats patients in Functional Rehabilitation, which returns patients with all types of musculoskeletal sports injuries or concussions to quickly and safely return to competition. He also treats patients in the Play Strong program, which aims to return patients to an active lifestyle while overcoming many types of illnesses and conditions, such as cancer, heart disease, diabetes, arthritis, and weight issues. Travis incorporates play, self-motivation, and an introduction to various physical activities (PA101) into the rehabilitation of these patients, as well as increasing fitness levels, functional movement skills and confidence.
