Heart transplants are available for end-stage cardiac failure refractory to medical therapy. All thoracic transplant programs are certified by the United Network for Organ Sharing, approved by the Ohio Department of Health and Human Services, and accepted into the Ohio Solid Organ Transplant Consortium.
The Lung and Heart-Lung Transplant Programs are part of a multi-organ transplant center at Nationwide Children's Hospital. The transplant programs utilize a multidisciplinary team of lung and heart-lung transplant experts in the transplantation of children and adults with childhood diseases.
Renal Transplant Program - in conjunction with The Ohio State University Abdominal Organ Transplant Program, Nationwide Children’s Hospital performs living-related and cadaveric renal transplant for infants, children and adolescents.
The Blood and Marrow Transplantation (BMT) program provides care for children with cancer, inherited immuno-deficiencies, blood disorders and metabolic/genetic diseases.
