Sports and Orthopedic Physical Therapy

Through Physical Therapy, Nationwide Children's Hospital offers a rehabilitation program specifically for young athletes and children who have suffered bone and/or muscle injuries. The Sports and Orthopedic Physical Therapy team works closely with Nationwide Children's Sports Medicine and the department of Orthopedics to help rehabilitate and return children to their previous function level.

New Clinic Location
Sports and Orthopedic Physical Therapy is now available in New Albany at the Philip Heit Center for Healthy New Albany. Making your child’s care even more convenient.


Nationwide Children’s Offers State-of-the-Art Therapy with AlterG Anti-Gravity Treadmill 
The AlterG anti-gravity treadmill, now available at Nationwide Children’s, uses state-of-the-art technology to assist us in helping patients reach their goals. Using air pressure to lift the patient, normal walking and running can be performed with full range of motion. This is especially useful as a patient is recovering from an injury or surgery.

Nationwide Children’s Hospital Sports and Orthopedic Physical Therapy is pleased to provide care for Buckeye Gymnastics athletes!
Sports and Orthopedic Physical Therapists facilitate an efficient return to gymnastics after injury – and enhance gymnasts’ performance – by providing physical therapy treatment at the Buckeye Gymnastics facility. Our Physical Therapists are former gymnastics themselves and will:

  • Perform biomechanical analysis of gymnastics skills that may cause injury

  • Provide direct guidance for progression back to gymnastics after injury

  • Facilitate and encourage direct communication with gymnastics coaches
