National Child Abuse Prevention Month in April
Prevent Child Abuse Ohio (PCAO), Franklin County Children Services, the Center for Child and Family Advocacy at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and community volunteers, will plant 8,236 pinwheels Sunday in Livingston Avenue Park. These pinwheels represent the thousands of adults advocating on behalf of children who have been maltreated and promote safe and stable families in Franklin County, the state of Ohio and across the nation.
PCAO will commemorate National Child Abuse Prevention Month with Pinwheels for Prevention, a month-long campaign designed to enhance the publics’ awareness of child abuse and neglect prevention. During April, Ohio counties will display colorful pinwheels in front of schools, playgrounds, libraries and parks. The pinwheel display is a symbolic representation of Ohio’s commitment to the prevention of child maltreatment. Pinwheels for Prevention is Prevent Child Abuse America’s signature event which commemorates prevention activities nationwide during the month of April.
