Amy Donegan, CPNP-PC, Elected President of the Association of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition Nurses

Amy M. Donegan, certified pediatric nurse practitioner at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition, has been elected the next president of the Association of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition Nurses (APGNN).

This position is a six-year commitment: the first two years as President Elect, followed by a two-year presidency, concluded by two years as past president. APGNN is an organization of approximately 300 pediatric gastroenterology nurses and nurse practitioners across the country. Amy has been a member of APGNN for more than ten years.

“It will be an honor to serve this important organization as president. As I have gotten more involved in committee work, I have had the opportunity to collaborate with some outstanding providers,” said Amy. “They are smart, dynamic, motivated nurses that are working to assure the highest quality of care is given to all pediatric gastroenterology patients.”

During her tenure as president, Amy looks forward to continue building relationships with dietitians and psychologists in her field to create collaborative projects that strive to provide the highest quality of care to patients.

As a CPNP, Amy focuses her expertise in the IBD Center at Nationwide Children’s, where her responsibilities include assessment, examination, diagnosis and treatment of children with inflammatory bowel disease. Her other responsibilities include overseeing the comprehensive care of families seeking a second opinion, population management review, inpatient and outpatient coordination of care, quality improvement initiatives and coordination for parent mentors.
