Neurodiagnostics

The Neurodiagnostics Program at Nationwide Children's Hospital provides testing of the brain, spinal cord and peripheral nervous system. The department provides routine and long-term EEG testing, Evoked Potentials and Ambulatory EEG. The lab also works very closely with neurologists and the various departments of Children's Hospital to provide comprehensive services to patients with disease or injury of the nervous system.

The Neurodiagnostics Program provides diagnostic testing for the following diagnoses or conditions:

  • Acute Onset of Stupor/Coma

  • Acute Paralysis or Hemiparesis

  • Congenital anomalies of the CNS

  • Epilepsy

  • Headache

  • Movement Disorders

  • Neurodegenerative Diseases

  • Neuromuscular Disorders

  • Sleep Disorders

  • Stroke

  • Traumatic Brain Injury

  • Traumatic Spinal Cord Injury

Services within the Neurodiagnostics Program include:

  • EEG (Routine, Extended, Day, All Day, Overnight Long Term Monitoring, Cortical

  • Grid Monitoring, Electrocorticography, Ambulatory EEG)

  • EMG

  • Evoked Potentials (Brainstem Auditory Evoked Response, Somatosensory

  • Evoked Response, visual Evoked response)

  • Intraoperative Evoked Potential Monitoring

  • Sleep Studies
