Biography

Kris R. Jatana, MD, FAAP, a native of Columbus, has joined Nationwide Children’s Hospital Department of Pediatric Otolaryngology and is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at The Ohio State University. He completed residency training at The Ohio State University, and he went on to complete pediatric fellowship training at Children’s Memorial Hospital while serving as a Clinical Instructor at Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois. He is certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. He serves as a reviewer for several reputed peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Jatana has authored nearly 20 publications, and he has had over 35 presentations at scientific meetings. For over 15 years, he has been involved with basic science and/or translational research including experience at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. Some of his honors include: Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society (Zeta Chapter President), Sony Scholar Award, Tandy Science Scholar Award, McGraw-Hill Medical Scholar Award, Ideal Physician Award, Falor Research Award, three consecutive William H. Saunders Research Awards, American Society of Pediatric Otolaryngology Clinical Research Award, two competitive Grand Awards in Medicine and Health at the International Science and Engineering Fair, and he was 1 of 20 recipients in the United States of the 2004 American Medical Association Foundation Leadership Award.
