Biography

Kathleen Nicol, MD, is a Clinical Professor of Pathology at The Ohio State University College of Medicine, Section Chief of the Clinical Laboratory at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and CAP/CLIA Medical Director. She serves as Co-Director of Transfusion Services and Director of Cytology, Point of Care Testing, Off-Site Laboratories and the Perioperative Autologous Blood Program. She is board certified in Anatomic, Clinical and Pediatric Pathology as serves as a staff pathologist in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine.

Her clinical interests include pediatric fine needle aspiration biopsy/cytology and pediatric transfusion medicine, in addition to surgical pathology, digital imaging and laboratory quality improvement.

Dr. Nicol's specialties include clinical pathology, hematopathology, transfusion medicine and cytology.
