Sports Medicine Athletic Trainers
Janet McClaskey is the Sports Medicine Coordinator for Nationwide Children's Hospital. She received her bachelor's degree in Sports Medicine from Mount Union College, where she was a member of the Blue Key National Honors Program. She is licensed by the State of Ohio and certified by the National Athletic Trainers' Association. Prior to joining Nationwide Children?s Sports Medicine, Janet worked for Fairfield Medical Center where she developed a Prenatal and Postpartum Exercise Program and consulted on a variety of other wellness programs including weight loss, sports enhancement and employee fitness. She also worked outreach with Liberty Union and Fairfield Union Schools, where she developed ankle injury and ACL injury prevention programs. At Nationwide Children's, Janet worked in conjunction with the Center for Healthy Weight to develop and implement the exercise portion of the evening New U Program. She is a physician extender in the Sports Medicine clinics and has lectured on obesity prevention and education to physicians, athletic trainers, nurses and other allied health professionals. Janet chose to become an athletic trainer because she is able to merge two of her favorite passions, medicine and athletics. Janet works to keep her athletes healthy and in the game by providing a working knowledge of injuries and the sports they play.
