Areas of Interest:

  • My team’s research has focused on epidemiologic research of nonfatal injuries among children and adults with disabilities. Our research has demonstrated that individuals with disabilities are at significantly higher risk of injuries than those without disabilities, but those injuries are preventable because injuries among them follow certain patterns. Our team is also collaborating with researchers in China to study agricultural injuries among school-age children, drowning death and near-drowning events among children and pediatric traumatic brain injuries.
  • Pediatric injury research and prevention in the developing world
  • Injury prevention among individuals with disabilities
