Fit FORE the Fairway Injury Prevention :: Nationwide Children's Hospital

Fit FORE the Fairway

Fit FORE the Fairway is a comprehensive program aimed at promoting injury prevention and golf fitness. Components of the program focus on flexibility, strength and power unique to the golf swing.

Good strength is necessary for proper balance and body control and is the starting point for power. Power is the product of strength and speed. This course teaches participants how to transfer strength from the lower body, through the core and upper body to enhance club speed.

Designed to work in cooperation with golf professionals, the program is offered individually or in small groups in order to focus specifically on the needs of the golfer. Participants have access to the Dartfish® video imaging system that provides instant visual feedback and is a critical tool in analyzing performance.

Youth and adolescent golfers will find greater enjoyment from a game they already love when they feel as fresh and strong on the 18th hole as they did on the 1st tee.

All participants will receive a Personal Best T-shirt and a Certificate of Completion.

Goals:

  • Improve overall body flexibility and trunk rotation
  • Improve strength and core stability
  • Create a stable base of support for power
  • Improve the dynamic transfer of strength from the lower body to the upper body
