Compliance Tip of the Week- Biological Safety
As lovable as they may be, children should not be brought into our laboratories. Laboratories are full of biohazards, chemicals, radioactivity, and sharp objects. Coworkers who may be trying to concentrate can be distracted by kids running around and making noise.
We know arranging child care can sometimes be challenging, but the research buildings are not a place to bring children for any significant amount of time. If you must bring them in for short periods, they should be kept in administrative/office areas under direct and constant supervision.
