Biography

Elise DeVore Berlan, MD, MPH, FAAP, is an Adolescent Medicine Pediatrician. She is a Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at The Ohio State University College of Medicine and is a faculty physician at Nationwide Children's Hospital. She completed residency at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Fellowship at Boston Children’s Hospital, and obtained a master’s in public health at Harvard School of Public Health. She is a Fellow in the American Academy of Pediatrics, Society for Adolescent Health and Medicine, and Society for Family Planning. She is a researcher, educator, clinician, and advocate for young women's reproductive health. She founded the BC4Teens/Young Women's Contraception Program at Nationwide Children’s and leads the hospitals’ diverse efforts in reducing unintended pregnancy in Franklin County. Her research efforts have most recently focused on implementation science to improve access to quality sexual and reproductive healthcare for young people with mental health disorders.
