Tammy Derden is a Program Coordinator with the Center for Healthy Weight and Nutrition at Nationwide Children's Hospital. She graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Education from The Ohio State University with a minor in African American Studies. She is a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) from The National Commission for Health Education Credentialing (NCHEC). Tammy also has a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Ashland University. She has been an employee with Nationwide Children's Hospital for ten plus years and has held various roles such as a Quality Management Coordinator/Database Manager, Program Coordinator, and Outreach Coordinator. Tammy is the Program Coordinator for the Happy Healthy Preschoolers Program. The Happy Healthy Preschoolers Program is a program that educates parents of preschoolers ages 1-6 about nutrition and physical activity. |

Dr. Eneli is Associate Director for Clinical Programs at the Nationwide Children's Center for Healthy Weight and Nutrition and Associate Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. Her clinical and research interest is on medical interventions for overweight children, particularly from the healthcare providers perspective. Prior to joining the center, Dr Eneli was an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Michigan State University, East Lansing, Michigan. Dr. Eneli oversees the New U Medical Weight Loss Program. |

She is a 2008 graduate of Ohio University and has a Bachelor of Science in Recreation Studies with a concentration in Therapeutic Recreation in addition to a minor in Psychology. Heather is certified through the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification and works specifically with the New U Jr. program. |

Joyce Gollon is the secretary for the Center for Healthy Weight and Nutrition. She comes with more than 30 years of secretarial experience. Joyce has been at Children’s Hospital since October 1993 working in the Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition Department, and briefly with Pediatric Surgery. Joyce supports two physicians, one nurse practitioner, the program manager along with other members of the team. |
Andrea graduated from Ohio University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Recreation Studies with an emphasis in Therapeutic Recreation, and is certified through the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification. She joined the Nationwide Children's Center for Healthy Weight and Nutrition team in January 2007. Prior to joining Children’s, Andrea worked for Fore Hope, Inc., assisting individuals with disabilities rehabilitate through the game of golf. |

Catherine is the bariatric secretary in the Center for Healthy Weight and Nutrition at Nationwide Children's Hospital. She supports the bariatric surgeons, nurse practitioner, and other members of the bariatric team by scheduling patient appointments, surgeries, and tests. Catherine has been with Nationwide Children’s since 2000 and has worked in Patient Access, Admitting, and Pediatric Surgery. Prior to becoming a full-time hospital employee in 2006, she was an eighth grade Language Arts teacher. |

Alexis is a Registered and Licensed Dietitian with the Center for Healthy Weight and Nutrition at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. In 2008, she graduated with honors from the Medical Dietetics Program in the School of Allied Health Professions at The Ohio State University. She works with both the Center for Healthy Weight and Nutrition and the Adolescent Medicine Clinic focusing on weight management in the teen population. Her areas of interest include weight management, promotion of healthy lifestyles, as well as patient and family education. Alexis is a member of the American Dietetic Association. |

Jennifer joined Nationwide Children's in 2007 and is the Program Coordinator for Happy Healthy Preschoolers (HHP). The program is sponsored by a collaborative grant from the Central Benefits Health Care Foundation, United Way of Central Ohio, and Nationwide Children's Hospital. The HHP program is an evidence-based community program which utilizes volunteer instructors to teach parents of preschool age children how to provide healthy meals and age-appropriate play activities on a very tight budget. Jennifer holds a Master's degree in Medical Dietetics from The Ohio State University. She is a Registered Dietitian and an Exercise Physiologist with over 10 years of experience working in both the clinical and community aspects of heart disease prevention, research, and intervention. |

Janet received her bachelor’s degree in Sports Medicine from Mount Union College, where she was a member of the Blue Key National Honors Program. She is certified by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and a licensed athletic trainer in the State of Ohio. In addition to her role with Children’s Sports Medicine, Janet is an athletic trainer with the Children’s Center for Healthy Weight and Nutrition New U Program, directing evening exercise classes, and counseling children on the importance of physical fitness. Prior to joining Children’s Sports Medicine, Janet worked at Fairfield Medical Center where she developed a Prenatal and Postpartum Exercise Program and consulted on a variety of other wellness programs including weight loss, sports enhancement and employee fitness. She also worked at Liberty Union and Fairfield Union Schools, where she developed ankle injury and ACL injury prevention programs. |
Dr. Michalsky is Surgical Director of Nationwide Children's Hospital’s Center for Healthy Weight and Nutrition and Assistant Professor of Clinical Surgery at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. Dr. Michalsky is developing clinical and research programs focused on the surgical management of adolescent obesity. Prior to joining the Department of Pediatric Surgery, Dr. Michalsky was an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Virginia, in Charlottesville, Virginia. |

Lori is a Registered and Licensed Dietitian with the Nationwide Children's Hospital’s Center for Healthy Weight and Nutrition. She graduated in Dietetics from the University of Cincinnati and did graduate coursework in the School of Public Administration. She has a Certificate of Training in Childhood and Adolescent Weight Management from the American Dietetics Association. Mooney spent nine years on the Ohio Board of Dietetics. Her work experience includes: Dietitian with The Bariatric Treatment Center; Partners In Marketing – a market research firm, Ross Laboratories as a Medical Nutritional Representative; Management Advancement Programs - Continuing Education program with the School of Public Administration in the College of Business at The Ohio State University; Dietitian with the Ohio Department of Aging and the Department of Mental Health. Mooney’s areas of Interest include weight management, both surgical and nonsurgical, and healthy lifestyle approaches to make permanent life long changes in the family environment. |
Dr. Murray is Director of Nationwide Children's Hospital’s Center for Healthy Weight and Nutrition and a Professor in the Department of Pediatrics of The Ohio State University College of Medicine. Dr. Murray spent 20 years at Children’s Hospital in the field of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition and served as the Director of the Borden Center for Nutrition and Wellness. He served for three years as the Pediatric Medical Director for Ross Labs, a division of Abbott Labs before returning to Children’s in his current role. Dr. Murray has worked on the issue of obesity prevention in children for more than a decade. He is the chair-elect of the American Academy of Pediatrics Council on School Health and has been their representative to the national Action for Healthy Kids initiative, promoting school policies that combat obesity. Dr. Murray is also the Chair of the health sector for Central Ohio’s Healthy and Fit project, a community-wide effort to coordinate local resources aimed at curbing obesity. |

Kellee Gauthier Patterson, MPH, is the Program Manager for the Center for Healthy Weight and Nutrition overseeing the day-to-day operations. She has been at Children’s since 1998 in the areas of access to healthcare, school outreach, research, prevention and employee wellness. In 2004, Kellee was charged with implementation of an Employee Wellness Program for the hospital’s 5,000 employees. In 2006, with the development of Center for Healthy Weight and Nutrition and Kellee was given responsibility for developing and implementing a business plan that would encompass both prevention and treatment of obesity for children and families. Patterson earned a BA in Health Education from Purdue University and a Masters of Public Health from The Ohio State University College of Medicine. She has worked at the Franklin County Board of Health as the Corporate Wellness Coordinator where she developed, implemented and evaluated health prevention programs. Next, Kellee joined the National Center of Excellence in Women’s Health at the Ohio State University Medical Center as a program manger. |

Jan holds a BS degree in dietetics from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and is a credentialed registered dietitian (RD) and school nutrition specialist (SNS). As a research dietitian, Mrs. Ritter works with community partners to establish policy and programs for the prevention of overweight among children. Ritter has been actively involved in the development and marketing of the Snackwise® Nutrition Rating System, a nutrition rating tool for vended snack foods. Affiliations include American Dietetic Association, Action for Healthy Kids: Steering Committee, State Planning Committee for Health Education in Ohio and School Nutrition Association. |

Dr. Smith is a Pediatric Psychologist in the Department of Psychology at Nationwide Children's Hospital and a Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. Dr. Smith received his graduate degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. He completed his internship and postdoctoral fellowship at Nationwide Children's Hospital. He is a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of Ohio, with a specialty in pediatric health psychology. |

Dr. Sternstein is the Coordinator of the Ounce of Prevention program at Nationwide Children's Hospital’s Center for Healthy Weight and Nutrition and a Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. She received her medical degree from The University of Virginia School of Medicine and held a Pediatric Internship and Residency at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. Dr. Sternstein is board certified in General Pediatrics and her clinical interests include wellness and nutrition education, obesity prevention, school health and physical fitness. Prior to joining the Center, she spent 11 years in General Pediatric Practice and was also a staff member of The Borden Center for Nutrition and Wellness. |
Dr. Teich is the Surgical Director of the Bariatric Program at Nationwide Children's Hospital as well as the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. In addition, Dr. Teich is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. He coordinates the development of clinical pathways for pediatric surgery. |

Carrie joined the Center for Healthy Weight and Nutrition in 2008 as a pediatric nurse practitioner. In addition, she is working with the Bariatric Surgery program at Nationwide Children's. Prior to joining the Center, she worked as a nurse practitioner in diabetes and endocrinology. Her interests include type 2 diabetes and obesity in children and adolescents. Carrie received her BS in biology from Muskingum College and obtained her MS in nursing from The Ohio State University in 2001. |

Cindy began working at Children’s in 1998 as a Case Manger in Clinical Care Coordination. After receiving her PNP, she began working as a Nurse Practitioner in Bariatric Surgery and in Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition. Since March 2006 she has been working in the Center for Healthy Weight and Nutrition as a nurse practitioner. Cindy became a registered nurse in 1974 after attending the Memorial School of Nursing, South Bend, IN. She earned a BSN in 1992 and a MS with PNP in 2002 from Wright State University. |
