Catherine L. Butz, PhD

Catherine Butz, PhD, is the Clinical Director of the Pediatric Psychology Program at Nationwide Children's Hospital and a Clinical Associate Professor of Pediatrics at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. Dr. Butz provides services through the Neurology, Rheumatology, and Cardiology sections and conducts psychoeducational testing. Her research focuses on the impact of headache on emotional functioning, and comorbidities among adults with congenital heart defects.

• Dr. Butz has interests in the benefits of pain and stress management as well as comorbidities of chronic conditions. Her current research includes management of procedural distress during burn dressing changes, and has recently completed a 4-year study utilizing virtual reality. She is also involved in a study examining outcomes among adults who have a history of a congenital heart defect.
