Burn Program

The Burn Program at Nationwide Children’s Hospital provides current comprehensive multidisciplinary care to children with burn injuries and cutaneous conditions. Our team provides collaborative treatment throughout the patient care continuum to optimize patient outcomes.  Additionally, our dedicated burn nurses deliver an established burn prevention program to school age children throughout the district and the burn program staff offers burn education to the academic and medical community.

June 9, 2018
Recreation Unlimited - Ashley, OH

Healthy Healing Burn Camp welcomes burn survivors (and others with conditions similar to burn injuries) and their families who have been treated in the Burn Center at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, to come together to share their unique experiences.

Families are supported by a team of Nationwide Children’s staff members who have designed a program that focuses on community building, strengthening family bonds, giving and receiving support and learning new ways to thrive.

Burn Camp goals include:

  • Focus on building a dynamic community that strengthens family bonds through support and discovery which generates additional ways to thrive and grow.
  • Engage in recreation & leisure activities, socialization, and therapeutic interventions that enhance the healthy healing process.
  • Provide a supportive environment for parents/caregivers to stimulate open and candid discussions that encompass the progress and challenges within their family system.
  • Educate and facilitate social skills training to promote continued healthy re-integration into the community.
