Nationwide Children’s Hospital’s Department of Audiology provides comprehensive diagnoses of hearing loss for children up to 21 years old. Our hearing experts offer a wide range of services to address the needs of patients and their families – no matter how slight or rare their hearing loss may be.
We know it can be scary if your child has hearing issues. But that’s why we’re here to help. Our specially trained pediatric audiologists have expertise in working with children. We decide which tests are important to do, and complete them with accuracy and efficiency. If a hearing loss is identified, we will give you information about hearing loss, communication options and resources. View our Hearing Developmental Milestones Checklist for a guide on your child’s hearing development.
Our team brings together otolaryngology, audiology, speech language pathology, family support, nursing and social work to help with every aspect of a child’s treatment.
Audiology requires a referral from your child's primary care physician or specialist. Your child’s physician can request an appointment online or call (614) 722-3951 for more information.
The Hearing Team Education Series is designed to discuss topics related to hearing loss for families in a relaxed, supportive atmosphere. Topics change from month to month and participants are invited to attend the sessions of their choice.
