Learn from the Experts at Nationwide Children’s Hospital Sports Medicine

The Athletic Training Workshop is designed for high school students interested in athletic training as well as emergency medicine, physical therapy or other allied health and medical professions. No experience is necessary.

The Certified Athletic Trainer is an allied health care professional that is certified by the Board of Certification (BOC). Athletic Trainers serve as a liaison to the athlete, coach, physician and other members of the healthcare team.

Workshop Topics

  • Introduction to the field of athletic training
  • Enhancing knowledge of common athletic injuries and management
  • First-aid training
  • Hands-on taping labs with lecture sessions
  • Participants also have the option of becoming certified in CPR. (CPR certification requires that students stay until 3 p.m. on June 5.)

Workshop Details

This is a three-day workshop taking place June 4 – 6, 2025, at Otterbein University and Nationwide Children’s Livingston Orthopedic & Surgery Center.

Workshop Days 1 & 2

June 4 & 5

8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (Please note: CPR participants will stay until 3 p.m. on June 5.)

Workshop Day 3

June 6

8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (Lunch provided)

Location: Nationwide Children’s Livingston Orthopedic & Surgery Center, 405 Butterfly Gardens Dr, Columbus, OH 43215

$150 (additional $10 if taking CPR class)
