This test requires the patient's specimen be added to a urine pyrrole tube from Bio Center Laboratory that contains a specific preservative. These tubes have no expiration. The urine must be added to this kit within 15 minutes of collection. Refer to in-lab processing section of this entry to see the instructions.

Patient prep: (1) If first time testing for pyrroles, discontinue taking any B6 or Zinc one week prior to collecting specimen. (2) If under treatment for pyrroluria, continue taking vitamin B6 and Zinc. (3) Female Patients: DO NOT collect specimen during menstrual cycle.
